Tim Sylvia vs. Wes Sims on March 20th
by Zak Woods on Jan 22, 2010 1:05 PM EST 0 comments
Tim Sylvia tweeted that he will fight fellow UFC veteran Wes Sims in Ohio on March 20th.
No word on a venue or a promoter for the fight though Sylvia recently defeated Jason Riley at Adrenaline MMA 4. Riley is the current NAAFS heavyweight champion. The NAAFS holds professional and amateur MMA events in Northeastern, Ohio. Sylvia is signed with Adrenaline MMA.
Sylvia's victory over Riley snapped a three fight losing streak the lowest point being a kncokout loss to Ray Mercer.
It is currently rumored that Tim, a former UFC heavyweight champion, could be signed by Dream.
Sims recently appeared on the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter and is rumored to be a possible opponent for Bobby Lashley at Strikeforce: Miami.

What an awful match, that means that now Sylvia is going to fight cans?
I would have prefered him to sign with Strikeforce and fight against Lashley.

He already beat Wes's ass before. They came out to the same Lil Jon song. I wouldnt mind seeing them fight again. 6'6" VS 6'10" is always interesting.
I cant believe it when I think back on when Tim was the HW champ and undefeated, and considered bad-motherfuckin-ass. Now......yeah. Wtf...

Wes Sims
Travis Wiuff
Ricco Rodriguez
Mark Kerr

Kazuyki Fujita

Marvin Eastman
Bobby Hoffman
Ken Shamrock
Houston Alexander
Jimmy Ambriz
Ruben Villareal

Bobby Southworth
James Thompson
Travis Fulton

I mean, here's hopin' he challenges Aleks and Overeem, but let's be REAL, Sylvia's gonna roll through jobbers to allow him back into the golden gates....not the MMA elite, rather Dana's diningrooms for a luscious "welcome home" supper.

I have a question about Ruben Villarreal, is he a professional fighter? Because I saw his fight against Rutten and I think I have never seen a "pro" fighter fight like that.
Only good thing in him is that he has an iron chin, other than that he fights like some "Internet tough guy" that posts shitty videos of his street fights on You Tube. In other words I think he must be the most horrible fighter I have ever seen, his performance against Bas was even worse than the performance Ambriz did against Kharitonov.
He was extremely slow, he throwed punches like a girl, extremely sloppy technique, horrible defense...Damn, he is really bad.
About Minowaman, I believe he would submit the "Lameniac"

About Minowaman, I believe he would submit the "Lameniac" | Not only does Villarreal have an iron chin, but also iron balls for taking on guys who completely outclass him in every way.
Give the guy credit for taking on the guys he has. He even fought Don Frye and took him to a decision draw. He even fought current UFC HW Tim Hague and took him to a decision. Those are probably his 2 most impressive outings of his career so far.
He seems like a guy who just likes going out and fighting....I didn't know he used to be a pro-wrestler. Or that he fought at K-1 HERO's - Dynamite!! USA against Mighty Mo. That Dynamite USA was a stacked card with Brock Lesnar's first fight and Royce Gracie vs Sakuraba and Dongbar vs Manhoef and former NFL player Johnnie Morton and Jake Shields and a bunch of other guys....crazy card, I am sure he got paid nicely for that one...but he fought a little over a month after that fight/loss.
Fought 6 times last year including 3 times in 4 months for the same organization and has won three in a row. And he still loves that facepaint.
As for Timmay Sylvia, I hope he finds a new opponent....but even if he does fight Wes, I am sure Wes will put on a better performance than he did against Bobby Lashley.
