Default was that the first ever TKO by punches to the armpit

I have seen lots of fights get stopped to soon I have seen lots of fights get stopped to late. but by armpit punches wow does a fighter really need to defend them self from punches that wont cause any pain or damage. they should have let that fight got to the judges IMO. I will never think of a TKO the same

The Walker fight ended in shoulder/under armpit punches.

Made sense. Walker had no problem controlling him, but his opponent kept tying up his arms while he got fully mounted, and tried to use his long legs and Walker's high mount to reach for Walkers arms with his legs.....then when he turned him over he was only trying to punch him in the face (and ref warned him a few times for questionable punches to the back of the head)

Basically his opponent would turn his face everytime he got punched square in the face, in turn causing Walker to pull the followup punch or accidentally punch him in the back of the head.

I was yelling at the TV for him to punch him in the body and shoulder and arms just because he was dominating him and really, if he just kept hammering on him (no matter where) I felt the ref was going to stop it. Not intelligently defending, and he time and time again turned away from punches and not only did he not defend, he never attempted an offense while he was mounted on Nagy's back.

I thought it was a decent stoppage and I am sure his opponent will have some problems moving that left arm for a while. Much more than a weak punch from inches away to the side of the face. He actually got full leverage in those punches to the armpit. If you don't think it hurts get you friend to punch you as hard as they can to your armpit. Between the peck and lat there is no protection.

I always hate when fighters focus too much on the face and never work the body....especially on the ground where a fighter doesn't expect getting elbowed in the legs and body. And I always love when fighters actually do it.

ok so don't block your face and cover the shoulder / armpit sure he was being controlled but he was not hurt and was covering any area were damage could have been done

They may not seem to be the most damaging form of offense, but he was in full control and Nagy wasnt defending himself.

It may sound silly to stop a fight due to arm strikes, but what else could the ref do? stand them up? Nagy wasn't defending himself and was warned to do so. Its a first for me but I think it was the right call.
