Dana White, UFC President, today made a public statement following the remarks Frank Mir made to a member of the media regarding UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. In an interview with WXDX-FM Mir stated that he wanted Lesnar “to be the first person that dies due to Octagon-related injuries.”

“I was disappointed by Frank Mir’s comments," said White. "Frank’s been with the UFC a long time, he’s a two-time heavyweight champion and a commentator for the WEC. I think his emotions are running high right now, he has a big fight coming up next month and he’s still upset about his loss to Lesnar. He’s been talked to, he regrets what he said, and he won’t be saying anything like that again.”

“I would like to apologize to Brock Lesnar, his family, the UFC and the UFC fans for my stupid remarks,” said Mir. “I respect Brock, all the other fighters, and the sport of mixed martial arts. I’m sorry that I stepped out of line.”

How can he? His boss told him to apologize. If he didn't, Mir's out of a job.

The problem is that he apologized only beacuse obviously Dana told him to do so, not because he is really sorry and realizes that only bullshit comes out of his mouth.

Its just a matter of time before we read some new idiocy told by Mir.

Mir is a hypocrite, who can't stand to be made like a cock. Yet, he is.

He preaches this, and that, about being a sportsman, then he goes and says this shit about a fellow practitioner. Now, the fact is comments like these got me into a lot of trouble at school, I faced the consequences even though I'm not, or ever have been a "role-model". I was never on TV, trying to get a sport into the mainstream conscienceness, but Frank Mir is, and all Dana can say is he's "disappointed". It's bullshit. Take Mir outta the fight with Carwin and replace him with Dos Santos.

It obviously won't happen, because for some reason Mir getting decimated by Lesnar for a third time (twice in a row) makes more sense fiscally.

Though, I'll throw my two cents in, and say I hope Carwin knocks Mir's jaw clean off, to the point where he bleeds out, and dies in his corner of the Octagon as he's attempting to crawl his way to rescue. And hopefully, too little, too late! *Fingers crossed*

Regardless of the fact that I do not like Mir, he's a professional fighter. You, are not. Mir saying something stupid to hype a fight is regrettable, but not a lot can be done about it.

You saying something stupid--probably in a weak assed attempt at humor--is something I can do about. Look at the infraction as a simple illustration that we don't tolerate people wishing anyone was dead on this board. If it happens again, you're gone.

oh, and as for "Mir getting decimated by Lesnar for a third time (twice in a row)," you might have missed the ending of that first fight. You should go back and watch it, it might surprise you.
