| Dana White Is Currently the Most Influential Person in the World http://www.cagepotato.com/dana-white...l-person-world Quote:
(Well, well, well, fuckers. Image courtesy of Time.com.)
This morning, Time launched its 2010 TIME 100 Poll, in which online readers vote on the world's most influential people of the year. It's impressive enough that UFC president Dana White was chosen to be among the 201 politicians, entertainers, and assorted cultural leaders that are up for voting. It's downright bizarre that as of a few minutes ago when I took the above screen-cap, Dana White was sitting on top of the freaking list, three spots above Barack Obama, 18 spots above Stephen Colbert, and 34 spots above Bill Gates. His only real competition at this point is Robert Pattinson, the poof from those vampire movies.
If this is an April Fool's joke from Time.com, it's an incredibly subtle and brilliant one. More likely, it's just another sign that UFC fans are a group that's both large and quickly mobilized on the Internet, and that Dana White has more nuthuggers that the president of our country. So let's enjoy this odd little victory while we have it, because once Team Coco and the Colbert Nation get wind of this, it's going to be a dogfight. To vote for Dana White as the most influential person in the world (!?), click here.

Was just about to post the same thing. He isn't deserving of #1 but somewhere in the top 100 sounds right. He has like 3357 votes right now, almost 2k more than 2nd place.
Go internet!

Hmmm if this is the truth (which I have a hard time believeing) then Conan O'Brien is far more popular somewhere other than where I am. Would be interesting if it's real but April Fool's day I have a hard time to believe anyone.
Also how in the world is Lady Gaga (odd name) influencial? Lol, I love how she basically wears nothing at her concerts so if it influences guys to go to shows they wouldn't normally go to then I can understand lol.

HOSS-Bork, you should spend more time brushing up on your MMA history, and less time complementing guys on how young their penises taste.

UFC president Dana White a finalist in 2010 "Time 100" list of influential people UFC president Dana White a finalist in 2010 "Time 100" list of influential people | MMAjunkie.com Quote:
Dana White, the head of the world's biggest and most influential mixed-martial-arts promotion in the sport's history, is one of 200 finalists for the 2010 edition of the "Time 100."
The magazine's annual poll names the 100 most influential people in the world, though the results are often geared toward the U.S., and voting is now underway.
The list of finalists includes leaders, artists, innovators and icons ranging from U.S. President Barack Obama to television personality Oprah Winfrey to recording artist Lady Gaga.
Thanks to social-networking sites and a push from the MMA community, White ranked the No. 1 vote-getter as of Thursday afternoon ahead of world leaders and famed humanitarians. (Then again, "Snooki" from MTV's "Jersey Shore" ranked No. 43, a full 53 spots ahead of reality-TV star and singer Susan Boyle.)
In fact, White has twice as many votes as the next highest vote-getter.
With backing from friends and casino magnates Frank Fertitta and Lorenzeo Fertitta, White, 40, orchestrated the purchase of the UFC in 2001 for a measly sum of $2 million. Although at one point an estimated $40 million in debt, the international company, which has helped MMA become one of the fastest-growing sports in dozens of newly regulated U.S. states, is now valued at well over $1 billion.
Once shunned by all but a few cable providers, White's company now grosses hundreds of millions of dollars from pay-per-view, has broadcast deals with Spike TV and Versus, recently launched an 11th season of its popular reality series "The Ultimate Fighter," had made millionaires out of fighters who once fought for a couple hundred bucks, and has expended into countries such as Canada, England, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
While his sometimes heavy-handed approach and public feuds are unlike anything you'll see from other heads of sports organizations, White has no doubt been vital in his company's and the sport's growth.
The "Time 100" first debuted in 2009, and the magazine selects 20 people from each of the following categories to comprise the final list: leaders and revolutionaries, builders and titans, artists and entertainers, scientists and thinkers, and heroes and icons.
This is White's first nomination for the honor. Leaders who have appeared in the "Time 100" multiple times include Winfrey (seven times), Hillary Rodham Clinton (five), George Clooney (four), Bill Gates (four), Hu Jintao (four) and George W. Bush (four).
White is the only person from the MMA community represented in the list of finalists, though other sports-related nominees include the likes of Tiger Woods, Danica Patrick and Olympians Lindsey Vonn and Apolo Ohno.
You can rate each finalist now at Breaking News, Analysis, Politics, Blogs, News Photos, Video, Tech Reviews - TIME.com.
