| Who should get the next HW title-shot?
...Title says enough. I'm very curious and thought I'd specifically make a thread on it.
WHO gets a lick at the winner of Cain VS JDS?!
Give me your thoughts and opinions.

I would have said the winner of Nelson vs Carwin, but now that Carwin pulled out do you give it to Nelson? Do you pick another opponent for Nelson in a title eliminator match? I dont know. IMO there is Cain, Brock, JDS, Carwin, Nelson, Mir, in that order and below that is a mess. Maybe Nelson and Mir should fight for the spot, or give a guy like Madsen an opportunity.

Hard to say, at this moment I would say Carwin but we will see. We dont even know when JDS vs Cain will take place.
No way Lesnar deserves a title shot again, he would get murdered by JDS/Carwin (again)/Cain (again)

If Lesnar wins his next fight then he deserves a rematch more then anyone else. Just on the fact he is a former champion who the defended the title a record tying 2 times.
Lets just look at everyone else:
Carwin: Coming off a loss. If he wins his next fight would be 1-1 in his last two.
Nelson: look at the above statement
Mir: 2-2 in his last four and has looked horrible in 3 of those fights.
Big Nog: 1-2 in his last three with 2 brutal KO loses.
Schaub: Still too green for a title shot.
Wildcard: Couture: 3-0 in his last 3 fights, even though no name opponents. But they have given Couture title shots in the past when they just need a contender (Liddell I and the Slyiva fight).
My bet would be Couture or Lesnar (if Lesnar wins his next fight of course).

I think he needs to work on some deficiencies and regain his rhythm.

If Lesnar does lose whoever he fights next UFC are gonna have to do some stalling to find a contender because it's a pretty short list after the top 4 or 5 guys. Even more tangely with a 36 yr old Carwin coming back after surgery probably close to a year after his last fight

It's impossible to say with the current schedules and heavyweight landscape.
I predict Velasquez-Dos Santos will take place in March, which means a #1 contender fight will need to happen sometime in that late winter-early summer.
The easiest matchup is obviously Lesnar-Carwin II, but I don't think the UFC brass wants to kill off one of their top 4 heavyweights by having them lose 2 straight.
I think they'll make Lesnar-Mir III as a #1 contender bout as it's a big money fight. Then they'll have Carwin fight Nelson, Schaub, Kongo, Browne, or McCorkle depending on who wins between now and when he becomes healthy again.
