| M-1 Says No Fedor on Strikeforce in January M-1 Says No Fedor on Strikeforce in January - Bloody Elbow Quote:
It seems like just yesterday we were excitedly relating the possibility that Fedor Emelianenko would deign to honor his final fight with Strikeforce by facing Antonio Silva on January 29th. Oh wait, it was just yesterday.
Well here's M-1 Global's Evgeni Kogan pouring icy cold water all over that idea to MMA Junkie:
"We are really hoping that we can finalize things as soon as possible," M-1 representative Evgeni Kogan told MMAjunkie.com. "We have been steadily working toward an agreement. And I think we are closer to it now than we have been in the past."
Kogan added that Jan. 29 is "not on the table," though he declined to discuss further details of negotiations.
It's a bit like Lucy, Charlie Brown and the football and we all now how that ends.
My last post on M-1's "Soviet Style Negotiations" seems more accurate by the day, despite Mr. Kogan's angry objections. |

Yeah it's getting so old at this point. This has SEVERLY hurt Fedor's legacy. Just look at Brett Favre and how the last few years off the football field have hurt his legacy greatly.

Just spoke to Evgeni, he says that there is not enough time for Fedor to train as he is taking a few weeks off for the holidays and that Showtime took way too long to announce this...so as ALWAYS, I place he fault in SF/Showtime/CBS Triumvrate! Quote: |

| do NOT blame M-1 please, they put on amazing events with many different known fighters all over the world, M-1 was able to put together fights with Affliction, K-1, Pride FC and RINGS in the past...and somehow it's their fault all of the sudden? I don't think so, sir.

I don't think so, sir. | Yea they have had success in promoting their brand throughout Europe and got a great talent pool but all those organizations you have listed were all outside of the States, except Affliction, which was a starter organization that had no idea how to run a MMA company.
So far M-1 has had problems dealing with the top 2 U.S. organizations, UFC and now apparently SF. I'm not placing all the blame on M-1 but I think they realize they cant walk all over American branded companies and they are not ready to give up in getting things all in their favor.
I never expected Fedor to be fighting before March and I honestly would not be surprised if he ends up fighting around June again.
