footstomps hurt like hell
but the best advice, as others have said, is to breath. i know i make fun of serra screaming out breath drago breath. but too often in any sport, and combat sport especially people have a tendancy to hold there breath an grit it out. doing this will only gas you plus make you tense. breath and relax and you should be fine.
let us know how it goes and good luck

Kicks, no one likes getting kick in the knee. That and try to bop him in the nose, doesnt have to be a hard punch, just enough to give him that bad feeling.
Theirs a few things said here, that you should listen to. Relax, stay focused,be mentally aware of the fight.

I think first you should have an absolutely cold head during the fight, you should not let your emotions control you, you should always have control of what are you doing.
I understand that you will probably be very nervous, but its extremely possible that your opponent will be nervous aswell. And I cant say that nerves are neccesarily a bad thing, but you should control them.
Nerves are like fire, if you have the control then it will be helpful, but if they control you, it will end very badly.
Even if for example you are at a bad position you should try to not panic and rest calm. Its obviously very easy to say that, during a fight its a completely different feeling, but still try to remain as calm as possible.
As other people have said, listen to your coaches, have confidence on what they say to you.
You should be mentally prepared, do not expect an easy fight, all the contrary, expect your opponent to be very tough. You should not be afraid, but you should never think "ah, probably my opponent wont be that good". Many people think like that and when they fight and they see that the opponent is actually not bad at all then psycologically they are dead and cant do anything.
Expect a tough fight but dont be afraid.
Stick to the game plan, dont try to do flashy things.
Also try to have fun, I guess that you do this because you like it right? Then enjoy it.

compartmentalize...know that when the bell rings nothing else exists except your opponent and your corner...
first time I grappled in a tournament, I walked onto the mat, did that Diego Sanchez yoga inhale/exhale thin with hands over my face and closed my eyes. The referee said commence, I opened my eyes walked over and focused 100% on my opponent....I won in 40 seconds via a modified nogi Ezekiel choke from the mount |

My ribs doin better now and will be 100% on fight night this friday so it's not really gonna help him to target that. I still don't know exactly what I'm going to do but what I listed is obvious shit.

Everyone here gave great advice. Breath, and listen to your corner. Also, I personally wouldn't go in with that specific of a gameplan. You seem well rounded, so go where the fight takes you. Best of luck brotha, hold it down for the mmanews community.
