Okami won't take Silva down nearly as easily as Chael did his take downs aren't nearly as good. While he may not get subbed he'll spend more time standing then Chael did and while his stand up has improved he'll get caught by Silva there.

Yeah no way they hold Silva out for that long. GSP doesn't fight til late April and your looking at several months after that for him to hit a weight where he'd be comfortable fighting at 185 be early 2012 at best.

Poor article, agreed. It would be in UFC's best interest to have a Japanese star or champion to help open that market up to them. They didn't bypass an Okami title shot, he lost to Sonnen. The Belfort fight was a far better match-up, and if Okami gets bypassed again it will be for a super fight with GSP most likely. All it means is that Okami is probably 1 win away from a title shot later this year.

My problem is that you're bringing up a guy that doesn't REALLY belong at 185 to fight a guy who BELONGS at 205...that is horrible logic and is done for MONEY by matching up two of his biggest draws. The logic thing (and I'm definitely not the first to say so) is having Anderson move up and challenge himself at 205, which he didn't want to before based on Machida holding the belt...a day long gone...so that's my beef and yes Okami totally should get the shot he was promised...it's not like Silva called out GSP and Dana NEEDS to make that fight happen.
