Apparently running fast and catching footballs makes you a good fighter, didn't you guys know this?

He better not be serious, not that anyone in their right mind would give him that fight. It does bring up an interesting point, though. With a possible NFL lockout, I wonder if some of the locked out players would make a move into MMA(not against the top of the food chain like Silva). A bunch of players have turned to MMA training to get themselves into great shape already. It would make sense, depending on how seriously they've been training. Maybe the next Matt Mittrione will emerge. Just something to keep an eye on.
Most players have clauses in their contracts now that prevent them riding motorcycles, let alone participate in a sanctioned combat sport. Maybe some practice team guys, but thats about it. Training is one thing, but don't expect to see David Akers on the next season of TUF.

Come on, David Akers by head kick!! Haha. Good point, but wouldn't they be temporarily free of their contracts since the owners are locking them out?
If he was younger, I would've said Stephen Neal (Patriots O-lineman) should give it a go. He holds an NCAA wrestling victory over Brock Lesnar. But Neal is way past his prime and has dealt with a bunch of injuries so he's pretty much out of the equation.
I doubt it would happen, but Jared Allen (Minn. Vikings DE 6'6" 270) has been training for a few years now. He's 28 and a great athlete. Great Athletes have the ability to progress super fast. If not a pro-fight, than at least there will be a lot more time for training. Maybe in a few years we're talking about the Heavyweight contender and former NFL star, Jared Allen.

TUF 15 - NFL Lockout edition

Put a bunch of football players in a house, fights as the norm format, winner gets crushed by an actual (mid level) ufc fighter.

Maybe some good prospects would actually come out of it though ....

I dont know who the hell he is, or who the hell he thinks he is but he wont last 30 seconds against Anderson.

Most of the NFL guys are failures in MMA.

they'd be pretty close in size, chad definitely stronger but not a huge football player. a huge misconception that football players often have is thinking if they are fast runners then they will have fast hands. foot speed and hand speed are very different.

Id like to see chad get ktfo but it'd never happen. He should try and box the guy that used to be on the ravens.
