Sherdog.com has released a quote from Josh Barnett who is sounding as positive as he possibly can.

"Things have changed. This is major and great things can come from it and I just want to be a part of that, and the way I can best do that is be the best fighter I can be ... I’m not here to make this a personal vendetta or judgment with [Dana], especially in terms of business. I know what I’ve got to do and I know what his position is in terms of being the president of the UFC, and that he has excelled at. He’s done a great job. It makes a difference with everything ... If he hates me, he hates me; but if he sees the value in what I bring to the table as a fighter I think that will speak for itself. But you know what? I don’t hate Dana and I do business, and I’ll go out there and do the absolute best that I can do and if he happens to be my employer … literally, if Dana White has an office that I have to write into every day, because that’s the person I report to for my business, well that’s what I’ll do. There is a part of me that absolutely wishes that things between myself and the UFC had worked out differently. ... Dana likes to go out there and crush, kill, pillage, whatever; and let’s face it, that’s kind of my M.O. As much as I may have ever had difficulty with Dana at the end of the day there is a part of me that absolutely vibes with what he is does. Whether he wants to think about it or not, here and now, no bulls**t, Dana White is pretty f--king metal and I am a metal dude … we’ll at least have that sort of respect that can’t be overlooked."

Barnett can go away and the sport would be better for it. He is a well known roid user who does not even try to defend himself and he is very very overrated. His only decent "win" ever was a BS decision over Big Nog. Then what two months later Big Nog beat him proved he got screwed.

I think he will get by Rodgers, jump to being a Top 5 HW for no reason in most rankings. Then Sergi is going to put him the hospital with a broken jaw.

Josh is in a intresting spot right now. Well one thing is for sure, he will get pissed in the UFC.

Josh would make some waves in the UFC HW DIVISION, his skillset is soild, but I dont know about the elite (cain, JDS, Carwin hell I even think guys like Nelson/Mir could beat him) but he will have to pass a piss test at some point!

Dana is also a fan of a clean drug test so I don't think he and Josh will get along very well. Back to Japan MMA or Japan Pro Wrestling Josh!

cudos to barrnett for making the effort, and saying he's willing to work.. we'll see how a. his performance back in north american venues pans out, and b. how his future drug tests and liscencing issues work out. if both of those go well, welcome back josh.

Jeff Monson and Aleksander Emelianenko are somewhat impressive, but yes, he is probably a little overrated. He hasn't fought good competition for a few years, so he could be a little rusty/lazy against Rodgers, wouldn't be surprised if Rodgers won, but if he gets by Rodgers, Kharitonov is going to light him up.

I think if Barnett can piss clean it might be possible for him and Dana to get along. They have both made comments which make one think they are willing to do business together.
