| Annual UFC vs. Strikeforce Event Could Be MMA Super Bowl Annual UFC vs. Strikeforce Event Could Be MMA Super Bowl Quote: |

MMA fans are still buzzing over the purchase of Strikeforce by the UFC’s parent company Zuffa. Dana White has indicated that he will keep Strikeforce and Strikeforce fighters separate from the UFC. White has since changed his stance on interpromotional fights and is open to making Super Fights if the fans want to see them. Forget about one fight, why not an annual card of Strikeforce vs. UFC fights that fans can get excited about all year and celebrate the event like their Super Bowl or WrestleMania?
Having one annual Strikeforce vs. UFC event allows Dana White to not hold true with his plans of keeping Strikeforce and even gives him a little more incentive to strengthen the brand. For an entire year White can make new stars, create dream match scenarios, and turn Strikeforce into a strong #2 MMA brand with television exposure on CBS and Showtime along with the UFC promotional machine behind the brand. Zuffa could continue to honor current Strikeforce contracts which allow their fighters to fight elsewhere. Once a year White could take 6-12 Strikeforce fighters in all of the various divisions and reward their success with an opportunity at a “freelance” fight on a UFC show against a UFC star. I can’t imagine many Strikeforce fighters turning down those opportunities.

great idea but dana said that would never happen multiple times, too bad we got to wait until the shotime deal is done(not for all fighters) cause it'll be a while until we see those superfights. I wonder if fedor will ever fight after his contract is done.

Well if Strikeforce goes the way many people think, which is A/ either extinct, or B/ a feeder organization, the cross promotion fights just won't work.

Dana had more than enough with what happened to Chuck Lidell in Pride, that is why he will never again make his fighters fight other fighters from other orgs. He is afraid of an embarrasment again.
He says that his fighters are the best and the others are garbage, but he knows better than anyone that the garbage could beat the UFC fighters.

Its funny think of when dana would say the ufc fighters were better fighters than pride fighters and the true champions, with guys like liddell, couture, and sylvia. but there a lot of top fighters now that werent around in the ufc vs. pride days that would kill fighters on both sides.

hmmm imagine uberreem v jds, brock v bigfoot, barnett v mir, fedor v couture, hendo v wandy 3, gator v sonnen, gsp v diaz, melendez v penn, wooooo so many options. Tho i am not a fan of the ufc buying out strikeforce as i feel it is bad for the fans and the fighters, yea it gives us many great matches if dana sets them up right but its still not worth it in the long run. Casual fans are growing to think that MMA is UFC, and thats just aint how it is. I hate people who ask me if i do that ufc style fighting, hell no i do MMA!!
