im down but im a little bit confused. how exactly do you win?

Once drafting has been complete, and everybody has a full roster, we proceed to step #2 – the contest.

Object of the game is to design an MMA Fantasy card. It consists of EIGHT total fights (like most MMA events these days). FIVE of the fights are your “Main Card” matches. Two fights are your “Prelim” fights (live on Spike, or FX or whatever). The 8th spot is dedicated to the “Facebook” fight. It’s designed like this, because as the drafting rounds get progressively deeper, obviously the bigger name talent will be gone and we’re left with lesser-known guys to fill out our cards.

So once you actually put your card together, we will all be seeded into a Grand Prix-style tournament format. Two cards go head-to-head in one night. Voting is done by our fellow messageboard peers, and it’s voted on the assumption that BOTH cards are playing in one night – but you can only choose ONE to watch… which one would it be??? The winner advances to the next round, and so on until there is one ULTIMATE card left!!!

That’s just the light-and-loose summary, I’ll get into more detail as the game progresses. For now I’m still shooting for a few more players to even the numbers and we’ll begin the Drafting process!

Still hoping for at least one more sign-up so we can get an even 8 players. How does Monday 9/19/11 sound for a drafting start date?

In the meantime, I will begin construction of our respective “MK” boards (named after the little square character tiles of games like “Mortal Kombat”). This is just an easy-to-visualize method of keeping track of everybody’s roster.

So if each contender would please just submit a picture background they’d like to use as their base MK board.
