Pretty stupid comment. Pretty sure you could do MMA at the age of 3, also...and teams don't only focus on offense...which is why your average score isn't 12 to 11.

Has dana even tried to play soccer? I bet he couldn't hit the ball in the net from outside the box without a goalie or defenders.. If he said it wasn't exciting to watch he may have something to work with, but to say it takes no talent is fucking stupid.. I think he's just mad that it is the most popular sport in the world.. not MMA

I don't watch much soccer, but i have watched the mens and womens world cup occasionally.. and judging from that it seems like there is a big gap in skill. Eh it's an opinion he has a right to voice his we have a right to disagree. Personally I have no interest in team sports at all. I only like combat sports and really only mma anymore. Hell the closest thing to a team sport I ever watched was the IFL. Oh and I don't like NASCAR either. That said ALL real sports require skill and dedication. He speaks as if anyone off the street could just walk into a stadium and be a successful soccer player pandering or not that is just untrue.

True. I am very offended by what he just said. It doesn't even make any sense to me. Brazil, a place where Soccer is the main sport, is hosting one of the biggest events in the UFC's history, oh and by the way, it's been presented in a soccer stadium.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, that is a fact. Everywhere else that the UFC is trying to break into, soccer is the main sport. So why insult the sport of soccer? People love soccer, they'll just get offended.

Obviously people of the US, and especially depending where you grow up, they probably won't like soccer if they grow up with sports such as hockey, football or basketball. That's ok, to each his own. No need to bash other sports if you know NOTHING about it, no need to even comment on it.

What about the cardio one needs in order to run 6 to 7 miles per game, including sprints? There are SOOOOOOOOOOoo MAAAAAAANYYYYY things that Dana would never even dream of learning to do....

I dunno. You gotta be in pretty good shape to play soccer. Especially pro's, those guys are in phenomenal shape. There are some crazy athletic and coordinated soccer players. Take Christiano Ronaldo for example, or pretty much the whole Brazilian national team.

I will say though that the dives and all the acting are really not doing the game justice, and I could see people's frustration with the all that crap. I never played that way. If you get tripped or fouled, you keep playing and just get that fucker then next time around.
