As much as I used to love boxing, I doubt I'll ever pay for a PPV again. It's just not worth it. Weak undercards. Lack of new rising stars. Too many belts. Too much corruption/controversy...
P.S. - I doubt those two clowns will be any less corrupt than any other boxing promoter.

Wow, I'm surprised at the amount of hate shown towards "50 Cent" & Mayweather (not as much, Mayweather as many of you have blatantly stated how much you dislike him).
If you dislike the music 50 Cent makes that's one thing, but you cannot doubt his business acument nor Mayweather's. Both men have good minds for business (50 Cent more proven) & considering Mayweather knows more about boxing than just about anyone considering his pedigree. I personally believe that they could make this work & have something to rival Golden Boy & Top Rank. Think of it like this, Golden Boy (2001) is a relative new start considering how long Top Rank has been around (1973) & is basically neck & neck to Top Rank. I honestly believe when boxers want to try something different they will migrate over to TMT, the 3 fighters they have aren't bums & could be big as they progress further.
-Yuriorkis Gamboa, on his way & could be a next $ fighter with a step up in comp
-Andre Dirrell, decent fighter I remember in the Super Six but I don't see him being a big $ fighter...just a good fighter
& to be honest I've not seen the 3rd fighter.
Last but not least you've to assume Mayweather will fight 2-3x before he truly retires & there is not going to be a Mayweather fight that does not sell, so this will generate the $ needed to be the shot of adrenaline for the company.

I am down for anything that will rejuvenate boxing. I definitely agree they need to get the younger generation in it.
Maybe they could put on other fights as well. Muay tai, mma, kickboxing...
I enjoy the Japanese cards that do that. Not that the UFC should, but something different is fun occasionaly.

They got some big money behind them...
Although im not sure they will be any different than those promotions they are trying to beat...
They both seem legitimately passionate about boxing... its just that they are both so blatantly obvious about being money and power hungry...
Something needs to be done to bring boxing back.... I like the idea, lets see how it comes through...

If they want to try to do something interesting with boxing I say good for them. The title led me to believe they were going to compete with the UFC but it appears they just want to follow a bit of their business model.

Something needs to be done to bring boxing back.... I like the idea, lets see how it comes through... | What gave that away?.. the name (The Money Team)? Quote:
"The goal initially is to create a company by fighters, for the fighters, which breaks the traditional vibe of promoters taking advantage of fighters.
"We're going to change the demographic also, appeal to the younger demographic.
"You look at UFC and MMA, when their festivities start the place is full, whereas the tradition in boxing is you wait until the main event starts.
"We want to put on cards where there are five main event fights, where there is entertainment from start to finish, cards that command attention all over the world."
50 Cent said TMT Promotions would put on their first show in November, most likely in Las Vegas. That show would likely feature Mayweather's return to the ring.
Many disillusioned boxing fans have switched to the UFC in recent years, tired of mismatches, politics and meaningless alphabet titles, though Mayweather remains the most watched combat athlete on the planet and earns an estimated $40m per fight.
With the undefeated Mayweather's boxing credentials, and 50 Cent's mass appeal beyond the sport, several contracted top fighters are expected to defect from GBP and Top Rank to join TMT.
"I've already had fighters say to me, 'I wish I could join [TMT] but I've got this contract'," 50 Cent said.
"To me, the options are pretty clear. You can deal with a snake in the grass, a snake in the street or you could try something new."
| It all sounds great but I will not hold my breath for it to come to fruition.

50 cent is a legit businessman. His rap career has been shitty since his 3rd album, but he simply used that as a medium to achieve his other business goals

| Zab Judah nears deal with promoter 50 Cent - ESPN
Zab Judah potentially on the TMT train, if so this could shape up to be a very nice roster.

| Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: Superfight Gets Closer with Bob Arum and 50 Cent Talks Quote:
Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum believes the fight every boxing fan wants to see could now become a reality with the entry of 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) in the boxing promotions business; a field dominated by two major players in Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions.
50 Cent, who made his fortune as a rapper, actor and producer, is a business partner and close friend of Floyd Mayweather Jr.
But Arum is uncertain if Mayweather will be fighting under the umbrella of TMT (The Money Team) Promotions, which was recently organized by 50 Cent.
Until his latest fight against Miguel Cotto, Mayweather has been using Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) to help promote his fights. So far he has fought six times under GBP, and everyone is anticipating he will junk GBP in favor of TMT.
It has been reported that Mayweather is 50 Cent's partner in TMT Promotions, but the unbeaten champion, who is set to be released in a few days after serving 60 days in jail on charges of domestic violence, has yet to confirm his role in TMT.
For three years, a number of attempts were made to bring Pacquiao and Mayweather up in the ring for all boxing fans to watch and enjoy, but all efforts have failed due to major contentious issues standing in the way of the superfight, ranging from drug-testing protocols to the manner of splitting the fight purse.
The entry of 50 Cent in the game gave boxing fans renewed hope to see Mayweather and Pacquiao face each other right in front of them either on television or in person at a designated venue.

Still, some observers doubt 50 Cent's ability to deal with Arum, who is expected to hold his ground on his offer of 45-45-10 purse sharing as an alternative proposal to Mayweather's offer of $40 million net of pay-per-view sales proceeds, which Pacquiao has turned down, saying it was an embarrassing offer.
But Arum has not said anything negative about 50 Cent and TMT. In fact, he said he is rooting for them.
"I wish [50 Cent] and his company a lot of luck, because he has, in his business career, been able to energize the African American community and to reach out to them. If he does that as he expects to do in boxing, then that will help everybody in boxing," Arum told RingTV.
"It would be just in the same way that we have helped everybody in boxing when we energized the Hispanic American community and got them involved in the sport to where (they are the) biggest fans now. I really and truly wish them the best of luck, and I'm rooting for them."
Meanwhile, the lawyers of Pacquiao and Mayweather are set to meet on Friday to smooth out kinks in the live suit filed by Pacquiao against Mayweather et al for defamation.
It may be recalled that Pacquiao sued Mayweather last year after the unbeaten champion made allegations Pacquiao has used performance-enhancing drugs for added strength in his fights, which Pacquiao has denied.
"If both camps agree on something that will result to something amicable, it should play a pivotal part in staging a fight between boxing’s biggest stars as efforts to bring them together have failed in the last two years," Nick Giongko of mb.com.ph wrote.
