Its a sad thing you find a man beating on a woman acceptable. Your wife should probably stay clear of you the nexttime you two get into an altercation.

However by all means when she calls the cops on you please feel free to express your views with law enforcement. Don't even bother using neosporin while you're whoopin her ass. Instead explain to the cops that men and women were created equal.

I don't know if I'd actually be comfortable with women and men competing against each other, but I completely understand what you're getting at.

1. People who jump on the "it's a man beating a woman" thing clearly haven't played sports, especially combat sports. There is an element of violence in it, but it's not a one sided beating and there's a way to compete safely; men and women spare together all the time. And I say this as someone who would still be uncomfortable with the notion, which leads me to:

2. It's a philosophical exercise about where one draws the line of equality and I totally get it. Rousey is actually a fantastic example: She would be a top contender in the men's 135 division. So, is it sexist to throw women into the mix with men, given biological realities (especially those of muscle density)? Or is it sexist to tell Rousey that there is no way she will ever compete with a man, ever be given a chance to prove she is absolutely the best at 135?

They're not easy questions and I respect your willingness to talk about them in a polite way.

In the end, my view is that we'll be ruled by the averages. With there being real differences in biology and real differences between the average female and male fighter, there's too much reason to keep WMMA and MMA. But I'm glad that, unlike many other sports, fighting allows for women to compete on the same cards and with the same viewership as men. That's a pretty big deal, really.

I agree with RD. Women should not fight men in a cage. I have no problem with women training with me, and yes some women can beat a man. I have no problem with rolling with women, or sparring but fighting in a cage where you are trying to separate someone from their consciousness is a different story.

I don't have any issues sparring with women. I hold back and they usually go full throttle but as suggested there is a big difference between sparring and fighting someone in the cage where a man would likely find himself in a catch 22 scenario.

If he loses he shouldn't have lost to a woman if he beats the shit out of her people will be quite disgusted. Either way you leave the cage feeling like shit and looking like a complete asshole.

That's the perfect way to put it man. The intent is the main issue here. Sparring is just a way of testing your skills in a controlled environment, well protected, and unlikely to suffer any major injury.

Competing is a completely different kettle of fish, the protection isn't there for the fighters and it's difficult to look at it as just objective competition when a dude is going out there looking to turn a girl's lights off.
