Default Aerodyne bikes

I noticed on the TUF series, they use Aerodyne bikes. Then when watching "UFC: All Access - Sherk", he has an Aerodyne as well.

I did a search on the internet and found that they are made by Schwinn.

Is this the "default" exercise bike in MMA? Why is that? What is so special about these bikes?

The beauty of the aerodyne bikes is they give you more resistance the faster you pedal.

Yeah but since it uses air resistance, it adjusts with you. That way you can do bike sprints that wouldn't work right with a normal resistance bike.

I've never seen one of those. I always liked the stepper at my gym that just looks like 3 steps from an escalator. It's like going up a flight of steps that never fucking ends.

I've never seen an Aerodyne at the gym before. How much does one cost? It always looked like outdated equiptment to me..

It's probably product placement...the UFC has gotten better at working that stuff in there. Who can forget the TUF 2 'Right Guard Extreme' promotions? Horrible!
