Kings are last in the league

we have great players but our management is awful.

Ever since Scotty Niedermayer, and Teemu Selanne came back the Ducks have been on a tear. If they can get past the Red Wings agian, I can see the cup being brought back to socal.

I wouldn't bet against the Ducks...they are pretty stacked from top to bottom. How is Corey Perry's injuries coming along?
I would like to see the NHL get a little more serious with dealing with Pronger's bone-headed moves....8 games for his stomp was ridiculous, especially with a past 7 time criminal!!

Pens dominated the Devils last night and even chased Broduer out of the net in a HUGE game last night. If we can get the 1 spot in the playoffs, i love our chances to get to the finals. The West has some great teams that would make for a great stanley cup final.

Man did the Devils ever look like shit!!!
In all honesty, I don't see anyone from the East putting up much of a fight for the Cup. In the West you have the Ducks, Sharks, Stars and 'Wings, hell even the Flames who probably have a far better chance than anyone in the East.
The East you have Montreal, Pittsburgh, Jersey, Ottawa, and possibly the Rangers....none of the Eastern teams are real well-rounded. All have some great aspects to theuir game, but also have some glaring weakness's.
Habs...lots of offence..lack of defence and experience.
Pittsburgh...see Habs and add lack of "quality" goaltending
Jersey...Brodeur can carry them to the finals and win, but lack of scoring is a major concern!
Ottawa....maybe the most balanced team in the East, but boy are they playing like shit right now...goaltending a major concern.

I just don't see the weakness in most of the Top Western teams...Wings have goaltending issues, and the Stars have some offence issues, but the addition of Richards might just make that go away.

Every time I watch the devils play against a top team in the east they get dominated so they are worrying me. I went to the flames last game against Minnesota and they looked great. Hopefully we play Wild or Canucks first round, which seems pretty likely. If it is Vancouver I might be able to drive 15 hours for an away game or two.

In the east Montreal is my favourite team and the one that looks like the best bet at this point.

Just a quick glanse on the devils website....they are 9-9 against the top 4 teams in the East, but 0-7 against the Rangers....ouch!!!
They are 4-1 against the top teams in the west, with wins over Dallas, Calgary, SanJose, and Minnesota, and losing to the Ducks 2-1.

man did Sundin and Kaberle ever screw them..........Chris Higgins and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounder, for Sundin, and Jeff Carter and a draft pick (forget how high, but something tells me it was a 1st) for Kaberle......pretty fucking good starting point to re-build with!!
