Don't forget that run support also has to be factored in.

I don't agree that the Cy Young should only go to a pitcher from a good team. SF sucks ass, and yet Lincenum is tied for 4th in the NL in wins, he leads the MLB in strikeouts, and he's tied for first in the MLB for ERA. PLaying for a shitty team with stats like that make it all that more impressive IMO. Lets not forget that he did this, while playing for the team with the LEAST amount of runs in baseball.
Edit: Also, Im pretty sure in the AL the candidates would be Dice K, Doc, and Lee. Besides Dice K, the other 2 play for teams who aren't in contention either, and most likely Lee wins it. | What, no love for K Rod? If he breaks the saves record, he better damn get it.

Relieve pitchers should not get Cy Young awards. They have their own awards

No doubt that K Rod will win the Delivery Man of the year award, regardless if he breaks the saves record or not. He's been the most impressive reliever this year.

Tiny Tim gets it, and it will be an absolute disgrace to the award if he doesn't. He's leading the Majors in Strikeouts, and leading the NL in ERA (almost a full run lower than Webb's). No-brainer.
Who voted for Peavy?

End of the year stats:
Webb: 22-7 3CG 1SO 226IP 83ER 13HR 183K 3.30ERA 1.2WHIP
Lincecum: 18-5 2CG 1SO 227IP 66ER 12HR 265K 2.62ERA 1.1WHIP
Other notes: Lincecum has had 5 blown saves vs Webb's 1. 3 times Lincecum left the game with 1-0 game with 0 run support vs Webb's 1.
This is about pitching ability not team effort.

Lincecum was the best pitcher in the NL this year. It should be unanimous, same with Lee for the AL.

A player who is on a horrible team should not win because their team isn't in contention! Webb should win over Tim because his team was in playoff contention up until the final week. Lincecum's Giants were out in May! Here's how I see it:
1 Webb
2 Sabathia
3 Lincecum
4 Volquez
Also, Lee's Indians sucked from the first week. K-Rod had the best season of a reliever EVER! K-Rod was the best pitcher in the AL. He deserves it plus his team is in the playoffs. Lee's season was great too and he will most likely win but no way it will be unanimous. K-Rod will get atleast 30% of the first place votes.

This is the Most Valuable PLAYER Award. Not the most decent pitcher on the better team award. It is an individual pitching award, not team.

The Cy Young is an individual award based on individual performance. The MVP is an individual award based on individual performance, and how that performance translated to team success. I say again, they should rename it the MOP, if they want it to be strictly about numbers. Anyway, on to the Cy Young. No names, just stats.
Player A: 26 Quality Starts, 18 wins, 2.62 era, and 265 K in 227 Innings Pitched.
Player B: 25 Quality Starts, 17 wins, 2.70 era, and 251 K in 253 Innings Pitched.
Player C: 24 Quality Starts, 22 wins, 3.30 era, and 183 K in 226.2 Innings Pitched.
Player A has more Quality Starts, a lower era, and more strikeouts in less innings pitched. Any guesses on what Player A's name is?
