Bettman wants to investigate and try to stop all long term contracts??? Fuck that, he threw away a whole year of hockey to get the contract he got with the NHLPA, their agents are smart enough to manipulate it a little in their favour, and the owners are so brain dead, they revert to not being able to control themselves, and Big bad Bettman needs to step in and save the day.
Fuck you Bettman

Bettman says he has no plans to step down - NHL - ESPN

This is an old article (from '07) but it says his contract runs thru the 2010-2011 season.

Balsillie is still in the game!!!!! The bankrupcy judge said Balsillie WILL be allowed to join in on the auction of the Phoenix Coyotes!!!!

WAR Balsillie!!!!!!!!!

It's not about the fact that they are long term contracts. The issue is whether or not the teams purposely made the length of the contract past the year they expect the play to retire. It's about circumventing the cap. Nothing will come out of it unless they can prove Phili and Chicago expect those players to retire before the end of their contract.

I fucking hope so!!! There is no other market in N.A. more viable than Southern Ontario.
I personally don't think we'll see a team here in the near future. We've been thru the near misses and screw jobs too many times!
Fact is back when Tampa and Ottawa got their franchises, Hamilton had the far superior bids....by far!!!! Ottawa actually missed 2 payment deadlines and were still kept in!

I'd rather see Atlanta moved to Hamilton than Phoenix, they are also losing money and are in IMO an even worse hockey market. With proper advertising and a winning team, it is possible for both markets to work, but I think Atlanta is even more handicapped in the long run.

Plus, is Hamilton really going to play in the Western Conference?

It's fucking retarded....but Detroit does it....Toronto did up until, what 10 years ago?
It'll never happen, but the nhl needs complete realignment.

His proposal was that Hamilton would go to the Northwest and Colorado would go somewhere else. It's fucking retarded. The Northwest Division flies more than any other already.
