Anyone participating in the NHL All-Star fan balloting?

Here are my picks:

Forwards: Datsyuk, Crosby, Kane

Defensemen: Lidstrom, Rafalski

Goalie: Quick

My forwards and goalie picks were easy. Choosing defensemen was not. I'm obviously a Wings fan, but I didn't want to simply go with Wings players. I honestly chose the two after twenty or twenty five minutes of deliberation. They're both solid and have sniper-like shots that I love to watch in action.

I like most of it but I'll hate it after I see who the NHL snubs for picks. Why is the skills competition for rookies only? Seems kinda dumb...

Anything that will instill a bit of life into the all-star game is good with me. There will definately be some snubbing from the NHL when it comes to some picks though.....it's inevitable.

My picks.
Crosby, Stamkos, Kane
Doughty, Keith
Price.

I could go with Z, but then I'd probably switch up my offensive picks. I didn't just choose favorites as Zetterberg is probably my favorite Wings player.

As for the All-Star format, I'll take it. It'll never be perfect, per se, but then again I just enjoy hockey and will likely watch no matter what.

Ok is it just me or did the Whalers... I mean Hurricanes just have one of the oddest four games ever?

Canes 7, Oilers 1
Canes 1, Flyers 8
Canes 2, Habs 7
Canes 7, Sens 1

So in four games the Canes scored 17 goals and gave up 17 goals. With none of the games being close whatsoever.

As for the new All-Star format. I think all All-Star games are stupid and I think the NHL agrees with me.

Also unrelated note. I would just like to point out the NFL thread has pretty much died. Yet the Hockey thread is one of the Top 10 longest threads in MMA news history. Yes Hockey rules.

Football can't touch Hockey. The Quest for the Cup aside from MMA is the greatest achievement in sports.

Hockey > Football

Z hasn't thrown any tickets my way this year yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I'll at least get to see a few games from his seats. I would never come straight out and ask him, as I can imagine he gets asked for things by so many people every day.

Off topic, but any of my fellow Michiganders going to be at the Palace this Saturday night?

I'm not a Michigander, but I'll be there with bells and whistles on!
