Time will tell, and that's why the games are played, but Pittsburgh may be in for a rude awakening just as they were in the first two finals games last year. Let's face it, the Hurricanes have been weak.

My only fear is that if the Wings take the series tonight, they'll have too much time off before the start of the finals......always nice to keep the momentum going. Then again, Datsyuk can use the time to recover, if he needs it. I guess we'll know by seeing whether or not he'll play tonight, and how well he plays if he does.

I'm just thinking, the Wings seem a little beat up (Ducks and hawks have taken alot out of them...physically)Datsyuk, and Lidstrom are hurt...I'm not aware of any injuries to the Pens...could be wrong on that but I haven't heard of any.
Fleury does seem shakier, but he has come up large at the right moments when they really needed him to...alah Grant Fuhr....he may let in 3 or 4 but when the game is on the line he won't surrender that 5th goal.

The finals should be an interesting matchup, however I pick the Wings to win it.

Pittsburgh has a green coach (almost no coaching experience). Does anyone else find this strange? Does anyone think this is a negative for the team?

Does anyone think this is a negative for the team? | Hard to measure how a newer coach may affect the outcome of a series. He inherited a team that made it to the finals last year, so I think the team's experience will carry them as far as they will go, win or lose. I don't think the coach will be the major contributor to their outcome.
Wings win game 1! Very good game, lots of action. I am looking forward to game 2 on Sunday night.
