Do you like football? (soccer in USA)
If yes, which is your favorite team?

Mine is Real madrid and Chelsea.

I usually play a few times a week with friends, haven't followed a team in years though.

Soccer will never amount to anything in the US. The NBA, MLB, and NFL will forever ule in the states.

bobafett 09-08-2009 08:10 AM

i from canada, and the local team got smashed
from a 2 nd division team from france ,
soccer will never amount to anything in the states ,
even golf is more popular , maybe its on a par with
bird watching ,
just as hockey is immensly popular here , most kids by 2 or 3
have hockey skates and a stick by then , but it
sucks in the states because its not part of the culture
and never will be (phoneix) thats why gary batman(bettman)
should be lynched for haveing destroyed our beloved game.

by the way fav team , ac milan and as roma.

yeah, i love football, [can't stand the 's' word!!!]especially the english premier league. when i lived in england i bought a season ticket an used to go and support my favourite london team, brentford.

they are a long way from man utd, at the time they were in what was then called the 4th division. however that year they actually got promoted so it was great.

we get quite a few of the champion's league matches live or slightly delayed. most of the time that works out to be four over the two days of playing.

I used to hate football, but after a year of living with an addict, I converted.

I'm now an (almost) proud Newcastle fan, and always try and watch the games/MOTD whenever I can.

valheruking 11-19-2009 11:38 AM

That handball by Henry last night was ridiculous, anybody else was watching?

It's the refs fault though, and FIFA's, no reason to not have video replays for the refs in this day and age.

marekny144 11-19-2009 02:22 PM

I agree with you totally. I grew up in Eastern Europe and football/soccer has always been a huge part of my life, but I could never understand why on earth FIFA refuses to bring in video replay to verify ref's calls. Especially at the highest level, such as the top European leagues or especially the World Cup, referees' mistakes should be unacceptable with so much at stake. Many games are decided by a bogus penalty kick or calling or not calling an offside. One look at the replay to confirm the call is just common sense.
