Controversial track coach Charlie Francis dies at age 61
Not sure if this link will work, I'm not computer savy, but here goes:
Yesterday the world lost the most brilliant sprint mind in the world, Charlie is gone. He was the man that other sprint coaches around the world went to for advice. I am sad that his wife is without a husband and his son will grow up without a father.
I know he made mistakes, but we all do. Seems like Charlie had to pay for his longer than most people would. Even murderers get off easier in my country, sad but true.
But I will remember Charlie for the good things: his dedication to his athletes, his generosity with his time and knowledge (go to his website and you'll see thousands of posts by him sharing his knowledge for free) his sharp mind and quick wit.
