After Jon Jones' appearance at the NASCAR Daytona 500 this past weekend, fellow UFC champ Dominick Cruz is headed to the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500.
Cruz serves as the honorary pace driver for the NASCAR race, which takes place Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona.
The UFC bantamweight champ serves as a coach on "The Ultimate Fighter 15."
The first-ever live season of the UFC reality series debuts March 9 on FX, a channel owned by FOX, which signed a landmark seven-year deal with the UFC this past year. Jones also took part in the cross-promotional opportunities this past weekend, and the cameras showed him chatting it up with driver Tony Stewart during an extended rain delay.
Cruz will participate in pre-race ceremonies and will make appearances onsite at the raceway. The Sprint Cup Series race is slated to air at 2:30 p.m. ET (11:30 a.m. PT) on FOX.
Cruz and Faber coach teams of lightweights on "TUF 15." The March 9 debut runs two-and-a-half hours and features 16 live elimination-round fights. They winners then will be drafted into two teams – Team Cruz and Team Faber – and the eventual tourney finalists meet at The Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale on June 1 in Las Vegas.
Cruz and Faber, meanwhile, fight (for the third time overall) at UFC 148 on July 7 in Las Vegas.
