Jason Lambert locking horns with Hector Ramirez at Bellator 85 - Five Ounces of Pain : Five Ounces of Pain
Two UFC veterans who havenít seen action in awhile are now set to scrap when Bellator debuts on Spike TV later this month, as a match-up between light heavyweights Jason Lambert-Hector Ramirez has materialized in relation to the January 17 event. Though both are coming off an extended absence from competition, fans are likely familiar with the duo based on a handful of appearances each had in the Octagon a few years back.
MMAJunkie was first to report the rumbleís addition to Bellator 85. The card is one of the most stacked the company has produced since its inception, featuring a pair of title-bouts as well as appearances from 205-pound stars Seth Petruzelli and Renato Sobral.
The 25-12 Lambert started off hot in the UFC with a trio of consecutive wins but went on to fall in four of his next five fights. While Lambert hasnít been seen since an August 2010 loss that laid a winning streak to waste, he certainly makes for an intriguing addition to the Bellator roster given his 21 finishes and past success against opponents like Sobral, Marvin Eastman, and Travis Wiuff.
Meanwhile, Ramirez holds an overall record of 9-4-1 and has come out with his hand raised three of the last four times heís taken to the cage. Four of his victories have involved a strike-based stoppage.
