Nevada attorney general files complaint against Chael Sonnen, who could face $250,000 fine
Chael Sonnen is currently "laying low" and "enjoying his money," according to a recent statement from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White.
However, both situations could soon be turned upside-down thanks to Nevada's attorney general, who filed a formal complaint against the recently-retired mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter in the wake of his two failed drug tests that detected four banned substances in his system.
To the tune of $250,000, which would serve as the maximum fine amount, in addition to all costs associated with the situation such as attorney's fees, laboratory testing and other "investigative" expenses. In addition, Sonnen would be required to provide a negative urine test prior to applying for a fight license in the future.
Don't call it a comeback.
Sonnen was sent the letter on June 26, 2014, and has 20 days to respond to the complaint
