What this series has reminded us of:
1. Defense wins championships - This was a battle of the best defense in the league against the best offense in the league and it was a one-sided showing. 2 goals in four games against the most high-powered offense in the league is insane. The Bruins defense made a bunch of future hall of famers look like AHLers all series.
2. The Regular Season means jack shit - The Pens swept the Bruins during the regular season, lost series 4-0. The Rangers have owned the Bruins during the regular season the last two years (something like 6-2) and lost 4-1. The Bruins have regularly made the Maple Leafs' their bitches, winning 12 of the last 14 regular season games and needed a miracle to survive a game 7. So when two teams meet in the playoffs, throw the regular season stats out the window, it doesnt matter.
I expected the Bruins to win the series because I figured Vokun would be the downfall of the Pens. Never did I think the Bruins would swept and that Vokun outside of one period would be the best player on the Pens. You couldn't ask Vokun to do anymore, he allowed only 3 goals in the last two games in Boston and the Pens still got beat. That guy is about to get paid.
So now, bring on the Blackhawks.
Dude, Iím a wrestler. Iím the best wrestler in MMA. Wrestling IS, was and always has been the most dominate form of mix martial art on the planet. Thatís all there is to it. We all know it, some people want to fight it, some people want doubt it but wresters rule the MMA world. -
PATRICK FUCKING KANE. SO SICK!!
Bruins vs Blackhawks: Im taking the Bruins in 6...and i will feel just a little bit better about my Leafs blowing a three goal lead in game 7 - at least then it would be to the Stanley Cup champs.
9X WORLD CHAMPION
Got a lot of soul searching to do. Sorry to everyone I've let down
The 2011-2012 L.A. kings won the cup as an 8th seed. Beating the 1, 2 and 3 seeds in the west. Then the reigning champs, N.J. devils. The kings took a 3 games to none lead in each series, and setting a record with 10 straight road wins.
Regular season stats don't count in the playoffs.
Teams often defy logic and statistics in the post-season.
Bruins will take the cup.
one to nothing!
