ADCC 2009 Live Results and Open*Discussion - Bloody Elbow

Weight classes are all done and we're on to the Absolute division.
Absolute and finals results are listed below; for all other results from the weekend, check the full entry.

Men's Absolute Final (click for video)
Bráulio Estima (Brazil) def. Xande Ribeiro (Brazil) via arm/shoulder injury

They tie up. Xande drops to a knee and Braulio pulls guard. Braulio rolls over looking for an armbar and nearly locks up an inverted triangle! Still trying for it as Xande defends from his knees. Now Braulio has the triangle cinched up tight, but Xande's snuck an arm inside to defend. That triangle isn't going anywhere though. Xande stands with Braulio still hanging off his front with the triangle. Braulio loosens up the triangle a bit - Xande shucks him off and follows down to half guard. Now the ref steps in to stop the fight... Xande seems to be holding his right arm. Yep, definitely an arm injury - Xande isn't moving the arm at all. Braulio is overjoyed, crying with happiness.

Estima wins $40,000 and the right to face Jacare at ADCC 2011.

I heard he was going to, but I guess his injury from his last fight made him decide against it.
