UFC on Versus 6 sets event series' attendance and live-gate records | MMAjunkie.com

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Saturday's UFC on Versus 6 event proved a record-setting show in the event series' history.

The show, which took place at Washington, D.C.'s Verizon Center, set UFC on Versus records for both attendance (9,380) and live gate ($706,775).

MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) learned of the figures at the night's post-event press conference.

UFC on Versus 6 marked the organization's debut in Washington, D.C. The night's main card on Versus, and the prelims streamed on Facebook. UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz made a successful title defense over Demetrious Johnson in the night's headliner.

The figures topped the previous highs set by UFC on Versus 1 ($568,125 gate) and UFC on Versus 3 (8,319).

Official tallies should be available from the DC Boxing and Wrestling Commission later this week.
