Matt Hughes Inducted Into NJCAA Wrestling Hall Of Fame

Former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes was inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame in the spring of 2010 and over the weekend, he got another honor as he was inducted into the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Hughes began his junior college career at Southwestern Illinois College (formerly Belleville Area Community College) where he finished fifth in the country. He would later transfer to Lincoln College in Illinois and finished third with a 33-3 record, finishing up his college years at Division I Eastern Illinois. There, he compiled a 80-15 record in two seasons, finishing eighth and fifth in the nation, respectively.

Hughes was named a NJCAA All-American twice and a Division I All-American twice. The ceremony was part of this past weekend's NJCAA tournament at Rochester Community College in Minnesota.
