Dave Herman Has Minotauro Nogueira Marked As His Toughest Challenge To Date

"It sure is the toughest opponent I've ever faced," said Herman to TATAME.

Herman looks to stop the current two fight losing streak he is on when he takes on the Brazilian in his home country. Nogueira makes his return to action after he lost in his previous fight where his arm was broken in the process back in late 2011.

"He is a former UFC champion, a legend of MMA, but I'm not under pressure, nobody knows me," said Herman. "I think the pressure is on him."

    Well duh.

I hope Big Nog comes back healthy and puts on a grappling clinic.

I'd hate to see Herman get cut but it'll most likely happen after he loses this fight

Saying Big Nog is his toughest challenge doesn't instill a lot of confidence in predicting a win for Dave considering that he lost his last two fights.

Pee Wee's toughest challenge so far has been winning.

Dave Herman: BJJ is still 'pretty much a waste of time' - Mixed Martial Arts News

But one can’t help to laugh at “Pee Wee’s” quick one-liners and bold statements. Such was the case back at UFC 115 in the post fight press conference where he brashly stated that BJJ doesn’t work in MMA. It’s tough to tell if he was serious about the proclamation but when asked about it again he still backs up his claim.

I mean even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, but Jiu-Jitsu is pretty much a waste of time. However, if I were to teach self defense to a girl I would teach her Jiu-Jitsu because jits is pretty much how a smaller/weaker person might be able to trick you into losing. So for self defense for girls I think it’s great.

Roy Nelson has a black belt in BJJ and it probably will be something Herman will or should be concerned about if the fight goes to the mat. So if BJJ is useless in MMA what does Dave suggest?

Punching people in the face usually works pretty well.
