White: The king of PPV is back

...according to White at today's UFC on FOX 5 press conference earlier today, it was great for business to have the French-Canadian holding down another money-making main event.

    He remarked:

"[St. Pierre] delivered again. It was awesome, it was a great weekend for us.... It was a good show. The king of pay-per-view is back ... let's put it that way."

Historically, UFC holds its PPV numbers close to its vest. But, it's no industry secret that UFC 100, which featured St. Pierre in the co-main event and Lesnar in the marquee match, registered a record-setting 1.6 million PPV buys back in 2009 that still stands as the high water mark to this day.

I'd rather pay to watch GSP than Silva or Jones any day. Any word on how many this one sold?

It's because everyone knows they will get their money's worth. GSP's fights go 5 rounds. Anderson and Jones finish their fights quickly. I have always declined to buy a PPV with Anderson as the main event because you know it will end fast.
    Favorite UFC Fighters:

    HW-Cigano, Frank Mir, Cain Valasquez
    LHW-Machida, Franklin, Jon Jones
    MW-Maia, Gouveia, Anderson
    WW-GSP, Hazelett ,Diaz
    LW-BJ Penn, Huerta, Lauzon

i personally like a ending to a fight then a decision... and jones' finishes his fights but none have been really too early since becoming champ

When I read the title I immediately thought Lesnar was coming back to the UFC too.

I've said for years that that entire concept was flawed.

All manner of men came to work for the News: everything from wild young Turks who wanted to rip the world in half and start all over again -- to tired, beer-bellied old hacks who wanted nothing more than to live out their days in peace before a bunch of lunatics ripped the world in half.

So you enjoy watching fights end in a UD?

I'm not opposed to seeing a fight go to decision just so long as its an entertaining fight. I like watching someone who is actually respectful to his opponents. I don't like Silva's dancing, and I don't like Jones' dirty style of fighting. Of all of the champions in the UFC, they're the two that I like the least.
