I'll bite, I think Sonnen will take Bones down. I think Sonnen will close the distance quickly, and hit a takedown. Will he keep him down, and win? I am not saying that, but I do think he can walk through the striking of Bones.

I have no doubt that will be Chael's gameplan. But Bones is always so well prepared. He has the wrestling chops to avoid Sonnen's takedowns, and there really is no plan B for Chael, unless you count tapping out of course.

I see Bones taking a conservative approach to striking early, and once Chael starts to tire himself out, he'll be dead meat on the feet.

I don't see Chael being "dead meat on the feet". I do however, see him being choked out by guillotine or triangle. Also, I feel that Chael poses a real threat for Jones. I think Anderson is on a 'whole notha lebel" than John and Chael will be more than prepaired for this fight. That being said, I'm not sure Jones is going to take it as serious as some of his previous fights and come in expecting an easy fight, that I'm sure he won't get. I just can't stop seeing Chael shoot in and get caught in a standing guillotine that ends on the feet or goes to the ground, but ends there as well.

It will definitely be a scrappy fight. Jones will need to be cautious of using his kicks and sonnens overhand right hooks after a takedown feint.

I don't think Jones will ever be unprepared for a fight/not take it seriously. He seems like a guy who is very concerned about knowing his opponent.

agreed. it wouldn't matter. chael doesn't have even close the skill set that bones does. doesn't matter how "big" he gets......them elbows will still mash that dome of chael's

I'd like to have dolce do my diet for about 6 months and see what happens.

Sonnen's last TKO victory came in 2007 against Kyacey Uscola. Of course anything can happen, but I just don't see him being a threat in the stand up. I know that match ups are everything, and Chael could get tricky with mixing big punches in with takedown attempts. But do we really think Chael has a better chance of KOing Jones than Machida?

I agree that Chael needs to be careful with his takedown attempts, as Bones will be expecting that. In addition to the standing guillotine, I could see Jon using the flying knee if he's feeling adventurous.

We've never really seen Bones work off his back, except for that time when he pulled guard against Rashad. Even if he did get taken down, I wouldn't be surprised if he reversed position and pounded out Sonnen in brutal fashion. Remember, Chael couldn't finish Anderson even though he rode him for 24.5 minutes, and you know how Jon Bones Jones gets down with them elbows once he's on top.

Chael's margin for error is slim to non-existent.

I have no doubt Jones will have his way with Chael. No way Chael will have anywhere near Jone's strength.

And how does Dolce knows how strong will be Jones?
He says that Chael is training so hard and lalala, and he thinks that Jones will not be training hard or what?

As for the "There are still 3 months before the fight and he is already training his hardest", well he may be careful of getting injured. However if Chael gets injured and pulls out of the fight, it will be the best Karma ever.
Not only brazilians can do this stuff

Yeah I didn't say in the slightest that Chael would KO Jones. I just don't think it's going to be an 'on the feet' fight. I don't think Jones will KO Chael on the feet either. Hence why I said I don't think he's dead meat on the feet as someone else had said. That being said and correct me if I'm wrong, but who in the UFC has finished Anderson? If my recollection serves me right, even the 'big punchers' he's faced haven't been able to do much.

I just think that if Chael can stay away from any submission and if Jones isn't taking the fight as serious as he has others then Chael will pose a real threat. John hasn't seemed to take punches too well, when he's been hit in the past. So I'm also curious to see how he handles fighting off his back. I just don't think Jones' standup is going to affect Chael much, I have a feeling Chael is going to be closing the gap too fast. Unless however, Jones throws a perfect timed knee while Chael is going for a takedown.
