The UFC returned to the United Center in Chicago on Saturday night, marking the second consecutive pre-Super Bowl weekend event in the Windy City.
By the numbers, UFC on Fox 6 was just as successful as UFC on Fox 2 was in 2012.
UFC on Fox 6, headlined by Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson, put 16,091 rear ends in the seats, and drew a gate of $1.27 million.
UFC on Fox 2, by comparison, drew 16,963 fans, a few hundred more than this year, but its live gate, $1.27 million, was exactly the same.
“We came back at the same time and did the same exact gate,” UFC president Dana White remarked at the post-fight press conference. “It was crazy, but I like it.
“I’m sure we’ll come back next year, probably (around the same time). I’d like to come in the summer, but what are you gonna do?”
