Wanderlei Silva honors PRIDE FC and indicates MMA return: 'The monopoly is coming to an end'

The Axe Murderer teases a cage come back and prophesies the end of UFC "monopoly."

Wanderlei Silva posted this Monday an enigmatic message which celebrated the 17th birthday of PRIDE FC. According to him, "the great promotions will be back" and "the monopoly will be over," in a probable reference to UFC. He also suggested a come back after his recent retirement announcement, although he was banned for life by NSAC for a first offense

He says: "The best of all time! Soon enough the great promotions will be back to bring back the glamour and the respect to the sport. I'll come back with amazing news, you will love it. The monopoly is coming to an end."
And if you want beef, then bring the ruckus

As much as I'd love to see a Pride resurgence, I think Wanderlei has completely lost his mind and he needs to go away for a while.

I agree. I would love so much to have the original PRIDE back, not it will never happen. And UFC will still be a monopoly for many many years.

ONE FC promised to be even bigger and better than Pride, and instead it is a promotion that make events only in Singapur, malasya and Indonesia and most of their fighters are from there.

Wandy unfortunately has lost his mind. Maybe he thinks that Mayweather will indeed make a super respectful and honorable MMA promotion...well, he can keep dreaming.
Not only brazilians can do this stuff

Howdy Folks! You like blood? Violence? Freaks of nature? Well then, come on down to Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Mad-Men. See the Alligator Boy, ride my famous Murder Ride. Most of all, don't forget to take home some of my tasty fried chicken! Ha ha! It just tastes so damn good!

Well him and Mayweather both live in Vegas so its possible they've talked about it.

UFC won't be a monopoly for so long if Mayweather actually opened a legit promotion and paid fighters better. Fighters like Zingano for example that only gets $9,000/$9,000 (show/win) money when she's been the true number 1 contender is a fuckin joke. Imagine her getting something like 60/60. Lots of guys will want to renegotiate or leave.

Give the fighters just a little bit larger piece of the pie, help more with little things like financing their pre fight medicals, fly more than just 1 corner man out to a fight, if needed, allow more opportunities for them to get sponsors and make it worthwhile for the sponsors and you will shut down any talk about fighters not getting paid right, or getting the right treatment; at least for a while.

Wandy has been in the game for a long time, we all know this, insomuch as we all also know that it's possible that he's taken one too many shots; although, he knows the game better than most people on this forum. I wouldn't be surprised if he used that knowledge and any connections he's made over the years and tried to find a way to create a promotion in Brazil or something, with Pride rules and a Pride atmosphere. Wouldn't it be awesome, or in the smallest sense, interesting, to watch a Pride-like promotion, run by Wandy, filled with slick Brazilians? I know I'd be interested to see how it goes.
You have to know what you don't know.

Wandy, why didn't you "start this revolution" before you got in trouble with the commission?
