Struve was ranked 7-8 before this fight while Hunt was at 11-12.

I'd say Hunt is ranked above Big Nog who is 3-3 in his last 6 with a recent win over a rank 20+ fighter.

And who was it that Barnett last fight? A fighter not even ranked in the top 50. Where are Kharitonov and Rogers, who are Josh's biggest recent wins, at right now?

Who has Roy Nelson beaten lately? A rank 15+ Kongo and a rank 30 Mittrione.

While Hunt beat a rank 7-8 Struve.

What about werdum? I feel like he should be getting fights with guys like jds and as much as I love him, why the hell is he fighting big nog? He needs to fight a top 5 guy and get a title shot already (if he wins.)

Who the hell had Struve between 7-8 and what crack was that person smoking. Struve as far as I am concerned was never a Top 10 HW and anyone that argues otherwise does not understand MMA.
Dude, Iím a wrestler. Iím the best wrestler in MMA. Wrestling IS, was and always has been the most dominate form of mix martial art on the planet. Thatís all there is to it. We all know it, some people want to fight it, some people want doubt it but wresters rule the MMA world. -

    Fantastic argument. Very cute.

It was due to his win streaks and the fact that Big Nog, Nelson, Barnett were losing. The bottom 3 of the top 10 are very much interchangeable.

Like it or not I think Hunt is #8. Due to his wins and how shitty Nog/Nelson are looking and Barnett's unwillingness to join the UFC (inactivity).

You could Gonzaga above Struve but that would be absolutely hilarious when you look at Gonzaga's last 3 opponents.

JDS is either #2 or # 1 in the world any way you look at it and Hunt is on a 4 fight win streak. It makes perfect sense that this is a # 1 contenders match at this point in time.

IMO mine only likely I much would have preferred a Cain/JDS rematch already over a Cain/Bigfoot rematch but since that didn't happen I get to see a really killer fight between 2 bad ass HW fighter's and I don't understand how anyone could have issues with it.
I really believe that people like Bill Murray or John Belushi are just as great and just as valid as Robert De Niro or Al Pacino. And I don't think you can say One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) is a better movie than Animal House (1978); they're different genres. I think they're both examples of great craftsmanship.

Boost Werdum's name value before Big Nog finally tumbles from the top 10 never to return.

I don't see how Hunt/Cormier belongs in anyones dream fights we would see Cormier blanketing at his finest as he ain't dumb and would take the fight to his world instantly.

Hunt/Nelson.... what a great ground fight.

I dreamed of seeing the moon sitting on the Earth last week as well.
