Default Hendo vs. Rashad odds even

Hendo vs. Rashad odds even - Mixed Martial Arts News

Dan Henderson is coming off an uninspired split decision loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 157 in Feb. Rashad Evans is coming off an uninspired split decision loss to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 156, also in Feb.

The two fight at UFC 161 on June 15, 2013. The loser will drop way down the rankings.

Every sportsbook currently has the odds even.

I agree with that. I really can't pick a winner either. I want Hendo to win but would not be surprised to see Evans pull it off.

I disagree entirely. In my view, Rashad (despite what he has said recently) is halfway retired. Once a veteran fighter starts having those thoughts creep into his mind, he's done. Dan hasn't publicly expressed thoughts of retirement, in fact he's done the opposite. He wants to stay as busy as possible.

Although both guys are coming off lackluster decision losses, this contest offers an excellent betting opportunity for Hendo backers. He's going to win this one. I just don't see him being out grappled (or out-struck). I would hope he learned from that loss to Shields a few years ago. I think Rashad is going to be a little bit more willing to engage on the feet. He still has plenty of reasons to feel confident about his hands. Nobody has stopped him with strikes since Lyoto. But unfortunately for Rashad that plays right into what Dan wants to do with that huge overhand right of his.

I think Rashad does what Shields did to Hendo, only he hits much harder.

How epic would it be if Hendo knocked Rashad out??

I'd feel bad for Rashad though.

I don't think it would be all that epic if Hendo knocked out Rashad because most people expect Hendo to knock out whomever he is facing...Hendo is always one good punch away from knocking someone out.
On the other hand if Rashad knocked out Hendo that would be epic considering that Hendo has not been knocked out and Rashad has not knocked out anyone in a while...basically Rashad has not knocked out anyone since Chuck.

On another note, I like your sig. Felice is really cool. She fought in an event in my hometown (wasn't a lot of people in attendance). After her fight, she came out and sat down and I sat with her and talked for a long time. Really cool girl

I would not be surprised either way. Rashad is unhappy with being a fighter and how it has torn apart his personal life. Rashad on his game would have the physical edge.

    Hendo has the mental edge.
