Thread: Michael Bisping calls out new MW champ Chris Weidman

  1. Default Michael Bisping calls out new MW champ Chris Weidman

The floodgates were opened at the top of the UFC middleweight division last night after Anderson Silva stated his focus was no longer on the title he’d lost moments earlier to Chris Weidman. Without the perennial favorite in the picture, hope has been renewed for plenty of other fighters including Michael Bisping.

Bisping, who has come close to challenging for the championship before but never had an actual title-shot, went on Twitter last night and wasted no time in calling Weidman out.

“So you’re the champ,” wrote Bisping. “Defend it, fight me!”

Though Vitor Belfort is almost certainly up next for Weidman barring a change in heart from Silva, “The Count” could lay claim to the opportunity with a big win in his next bout. Bisping is currently shelved while recovering from a few injuries but is aiming for a match-up in Manchester later this year. He holds an overall record of 24-5 and was last seen scoring a decision win over Alan Belcher at UFC 159.

Ha ha ha Bisping is delusional if he thinks he deserves a shot at Weidman.
And if you want beef, then bring the ruckus

We've known he was delusional for a long time now, haven't we?

All manner of men came to work for the News: everything from wild young Turks who wanted to rip the world in half and start all over again -- to tired, beer-bellied old hacks who wanted nothing more than to live out their days in peace before a bunch of lunatics ripped the world in half.

An H-Bomb tends to do that to you.

The bloke won't shut up! As rh said I didn't expect nothing reasonable out of him.

Given Weidman's new main event positioning and the probable expectance of him to anchor a PPV main event MW title fight, a win over a name draw like Bisping wouldn't be the worst thing, even though ranking-wise it doesn't really fly.

No thanks...with Jacare around now and Mousasi moving back, I tend to care even less about Bisping.

I hope this isn't too big, because it's awesome.
