Default UFC declines to renew Roger Gracie's contract

    http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news...cies-contract/

Ivan Raupe of Brazil's Combate is reporting that the UFC declined to renew 6-2 middleweight Roger Gracie's contract, leaving him a free agent.

A below-expected performance and loss to Tim Kennedy cost to Roger Gracie his stay in the UFC. The fight with the American was the last of four-fight contract, which he had signed originally with Strikeforce.

The UFC chose not to renew the Brazilian's contract, so he is now free to negotiate with other events. The information was confirmed by Combate.com with sources close to the organization.

Gracie is considering a return to the light-heavyweight division, to as not suffer so much from the cut to middleweight..

Bellator is looked on favorably by his management team, but nothing formal is set.

If Bellator ends up with Gracie it could make for some at least mildly interesting fights here and there.

I would much rather see him go to WSOF

Not surprised, his striking and cardio are just too poor to compete against top flight fighters given the pricetag he's probably looking for.

I wonder if one day any Gracie will be once again at the top of the UFC.

It looks that aside of very good BJJ, they have nothing else. Poor striking, poor cardio, and looks that even their BJJ is not effective against good wrestlers.
Not only brazilians can do this stuff

They would need to become more than just BJJ practitioners and train in more than BJJ as they grow up. Maybe they are happy at just being great at BJJ and always doing well at the BJJ competitions and occasionally making some scratch in mma.

And fedorlei is correct kyra is gonna be good I first heard about her about four years ago she should be legit

Roger is a great grappler. I love seeing him compete in mma or grappling. Good luck in his future.
