Thread: Just an observation about Alistair Overeem

  1. Default Just an observation about Alistair Overeem

He is known to be outspoken, always in the media doing interviews or what have you. Since the Bigfoot fight which he completely gave away with his arrogance, you haven't really seen him out in the public eye, giving interviews, etc. So could this be a much more serious, focused Overeem on our hands?

    What does everyone think?

I think he's just out on a horse meat run. He'll be back shortly.

I'd hope so, but I think it might be the opposite. Folks have described AO as actually fairly insecure. If that's true, he might just be hiding and unable to deal with the brutal knockout in a fight he "should" have won.

Yeah but AO has been finished in almost every one of his loses.

Who knows, maybe its wishful thinking. Ive become a fan.

I think he has a full plate of horse meat on the go. I seen a pic posted of him the other day on the underground and he looked jacked.
And if you want beef, then bring the ruckus

    He's a front-runner. Through and through.

When he's winning he's supremely arrogant, exciting, and even occasionally interesting.

When things get tough, he's timid and looks for a way out.

I don't think it's a stretch to apply that to his overall persona both inside and outside of the ring/cage.

Sounds a lot like Frank Mir.

Hopefully he's being focused for this fight against a beast like Travis Browne.
I'd love to see Overeem back in the Top 3 for a shot at the title.
Sorry Fedor, but Dan Henderson is the G.O.A.T.

    Favorite Fighter: JIM MILLER.

However, I've seen Frank come back from MANY beatings. If you watch Reem vs. Shogun, Chuck, Arona etc, you'll see that he wilts under pressure and just looks for a way to get out. He looked the same when Bonjasky dropped him in K-1.

I've said it probably a hundred times but I still think Reem gives JDS fits because of the standup but Cain absolutely demoralizes him with cardio and pressure.

No way does he keep that fight standing.

I think "the Reem" is way too busy getting coping techniques from Frank burns. He learned to take having no chin in stride So hes the perfect coach for AO.
