I was hoping for a Machida/Franklin rematch at 195 but this actually makes a lot of sense in the twisted world that is the UFC.

That sounds like a good idea for two reasons. Asking Vitor to make 195 lbs would require him to keep his testosterone/muscle mass levels somewhat in check. At least more so than any commission in Brazil would require. And it would help Lyoto experiment with weight cutting.

Exactly. I'm not holding my breath until it's officially announced. It'd be too much of a let down to assume this announcement is legit and then find out find out from Vitor's wife that the Phenom isn't interested for whatever reason.

Machida vs Franklin 2?????????? I love Rich, but you did see him get KTFO by Cung Le, right? I'd seriously worry for his health if he accepted a fight with Dragon in this stage in his career.

Machida would have to actually come forward and fight against Vitor. I feel he would surely lose another decision if he played cat and mouse.

I want to know what they're thinking making this fight.

It would be one of the greatest moments of the year for me if Vitor knocked Machida out.
Vitor would get knocked out due to his over aggression.

Heck, Machida fought BJ too. That, to me, is just as crazy!

This would be a great fight. I think Belfort wins by KO
Not only brazilians can do this stuff

I was actually thinking the other day about a matchup between Vitor and Shogun. I think that would be an epic fight.
I think if Vitor wants a catchweight fight, let him have the winner of Shogun/Sonnen. Either matchup would be just as exciting as Machida.

I won't believe it until it's actually announced but it is intriguing for sure.
