Last night showed how bad his striking is. The repeated oblique kicks and front kicks that work on smaller opponents got him punched in the face a shitload of times. His hands were horrible as always. What really started catching Gus was the spinning elbows and headkicks which for some reason he refused to block.

If Jones would have lost, I think he probably would move to mw lol. I'm still shocked at what a good fight it was though. Glover gets destroyed by either guy if he doesn't land big in the first 2 rounds. If Gus would have won I still wouldn't see him holding the belt long imo. He usually likes to exchange a lot with ppl smaller than him rather than use his length a little better.

Either way I would definitely love to see a rematch but I doubt it would soon if at all.

Really? You do realize Jones out struck Gus right?

I don't trust those stats. In the 4th they showed it Gus 88-18 in sig strikes. Most of jones strikes that landed were oblique kicks. In between the head strikes all he landed was a few spinning elbows with some headkicks, I'd say may 30 at most to the head.

I highly doubt either Phil Davis or Gus would agree to that rematch. They fell in love after their first bout.

Both are actually 26, but you're still very right about the potential rivalry we could have here.

What we got to see is a guy who is larger than 90% of the fighters he fights struggle because he wasnt simply bigger.

No, but it does equate to outstriking."

I'd say that it was shortened by more like 5+ yrs. That acting career is probably looking better and better to JBJ. That dude better be accompanying Chael to classes to up his mic and acting chops. Though he might wanna skip the comedian classes. Chael definitely needs a refund from that one.

Hasnt goose dominated everyone hes fought except for Davis and Shogun(last round)? To me this fight was a representation of what happens when 2 colossol forces collide. Goose isnt just sucessful because he is big, hes fuckin talented, so is Jones.
