Default Anderson Silva: I'd give up title before fighting Lyoto, Jacare

    http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news...-Lyoto-Jacare/

"Im a man with honor," said Silva, as transcribed by B/R. "Id never fight Jacare or Lyoto. Id even stop fighting just not to fight them."

"Jacare is a guy that has been doing a great job and can earn a title shot. Lyoto is a close friend, a great athlete, and we train together, just like Jacare."

"If we get to a point where wed have to fight, Id even give up the title."

Silva has a rematch with current UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 168 on Dec 28.

It's weird that everyone still talks about Silva as if he's the champ.

    Exactly.

I was going to say, "Well, good thing you don't have the title."

How hard did Weidman hit him? He must know he's not the champ anymore right?

Wrong belt, Anderson. The one you have now is just for holding up your pants, and nobody is trying to take that from you.

I dunno. I'd fight him for his pants belt... It's probably nicer then mine. I think due to the rematch, a lot of people won't feel like weidman is champ until he defends... Which is unfair to weidman. Weidman is clearly champ but since a lot of people think Anderson wins the rematch, they don't see him as such. Not to mention Anderson was such a mythic champion... This is just one of the reasons I don't like immediate rematches... It questions the legitimacy of the win
