LAS VEGAS – MMAjunkie was on scene and reporting live from today’s UFC 167 fighter weigh-ins, where all fighters successfully made weight for Saturday’s card.
The festivities took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the same site that hosts Saturday’s event.
In the main event, longtime welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre meets top contender Johny Hendricks. Both fighters came in at 170 pounds on the button for their five-round title fight, which headlines the UFC’s 20th anniversary pay-per-view.
After hitting their marks, “GSP” and “Bigg Rigg” faced off, and at one point smiled at each other before shaking hands, giving a half-hug and bowing toward each other.
The co-main event features former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans against former two-division title challenger Chael Sonnen in a battle of friends and co-workers for FOX Sports on the UFC analyst desk. Sonnen came in at 206 pounds, while Evans was 205 before the two got in close for their faceoff.
Also on the main card, Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald meet in a fight of welterweight title contenders. Lawler, weighing in first, came in at 170, while MacDonald was 171.
