He's certainly not hurting for money, and he isn't holding the title hostage, so more power to him.

WTF? Robbie Lawler & Hendricks for the title in March.

Sorry, but Lawler doesn't deserve a title fight yet. He's only on a 3-fight win streak, all after returning to the UFC & WW.

Good for GSP. He seems like a good person and can do with his life what he wants. Wish him the best and look forward to the inevitable comeback.

Guess they're going with the hot hand in Lawler, but IMO Hendricks dusts him, while I think a Condit II would be a helluva lot closer and IMO, if feels like they're looking to give Hendricks a lob, hoping that he retains and GSP returns sooner than later.

Meltzer's question was awesome, bringing up "why not Condit?" and Dana's response was some nice double-talking about rankings and how Condit already fought for the title and fought Hendricks, totally side stepping that the "UFC rankings" themselves, which while highly dubious, have Condit ahead of Lawler. Dunno what "special fight" Dana's trying to nail down for Condit on the same card, and he's now said the Brown fight is off of the table. Only thing I can think of is they pull Lombard from his Shields matchup.....oh and Dana reiterated that Nick Diaz is still retired, but he could definitely be kayfabing.

Also, was super awesome to hear them raking Dana over the coals for his original dickhead comments about how "GSP thinks these problems are a big deal, but they're not" and what changed.

If he comes back, I'll definitely watch that fight. If he doesn't, I hope he finds happiness in whatever he decides to do. I'm definitely happy that he vacated the title. That to me showed his priorities are in order. Good for him.

Now watch a year from now he's bloated and shoving a poutine/Tim Horton's hybrid pile in his face on the regular. Likely not to happen, but I can dream...apparently about fat men, but still!

obviously it's not ideal for gsp to go out on a controversial decision, but i'm glad he retired. i, like any fan, want him to be able to at least try to redeem that, but it's also selfish to want that. gsp is the greatest ww fight in the world and could be argued that he was one of the best mma fighters.

robbie vs hendricks -- robbie wins then condit gets a shot and beats robbie.

What's the over/under on GSP staying out longer than Cruz has?

Under. One year at most and he wants to fight again. Add training camp time, and I'll put it at 15-16 months. If he comes back, that is.
