“It didn’t follow the philosophy that the UFC espouses,” Rebney told the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Beatdown” show. “It didn’t follow their tagline, and it was too bad that they didn’t even make him an offer. I understand if they’d made him an offer and Ben turned it down, but to not even make the No. 6-ranked guy in the world an offer, then stop saying the best fighters in the world fight in the UFC.”
Well Bjork this whole thing happened because you just decided you didn't want your most dominant champion anymore. Also after you not even making an offer to top 10 talents in Fitch and Okami.
I really believe that people like Bill Murray or John Belushi are just as great and just as valid as Robert De Niro or Al Pacino. And I don't think you can say One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) is a better movie than Animal House (1978); they're different genres. I think they're both examples of great craftsmanship.

I wouldn't put Fitch in the top 10 right now. But I see your point.

Well both of those fighters were coming off of losses and overall flat performances. Askren is undefeated and has dominated everyone he's wrestlefucked. So seems like apples and oranges. Bjorn is right, Dana just can't promote this guy and Askren winning UFC gold would be a nightmare for him. But If Askren runs the table at ONEFC. then the UFC will lose credibility if they don't sign him. I'd like to see Askren fight Paul-Harris for the title in ONEFC.

I wouldn't do it so artistically." ~Bruce Lee

Baroni is the type of dude I just want to buy a beer for. Love his attitude.

Askren would have as much success as Shields and his limited striking.

Better yet, have a few beers with and go pick up some skanks at a strip club...along with Andrew Dice Clay.

How will they lose credibility if Askren runs the table against guys who are not even top 20 fighters? Its not like fighing in ONEFC is going to boost his stock unless he does something amazing besides lay on people.

And don't forget the Herion fight.

Second problem for Askren in the UFC is the PPV #s wouldn't be good to see him lose
