He was cut from the UFC, and 23 seconds into his Bellator debut at Bellator 102 on October 4, 2013, Lavar Johnson was face down on the canvas seeing stars. But the heavy-hitting slugger is getting another crack at Bellator glory, with a berth secured for him in the organization’s next tournament, which is set to begin on April 4. Will Johnson get further than the quarterfinals this time around? Judging by the other competitors listed and the tournament brackets, he has a very real chance of at least some of the success his fellow UFC castoff Cheick Kongo found (Kongo won the tournament last season).
