The problem with judging this guy for his suicide is that none of us know what was going on in his head. For all we know this man could have been suffering from serious mental health issues. I find it hard to imagine the mental space one must be in the make that desperate decision to take their own life, leaving behind a wife and child.

I understand peoples reactions and statements but people need to think about the struggles this man must have been facing. As well, the fact he was involved in a contact sport like mma, one must also wonder about concussions and their influence on what happened.

Wow. Definitely a selfish move. I can only imagine the shame, sorrow, and stress he felt and hope that the family finds some way to get through their grief.
You have to know what you don't know.

Yes suicide is a selfish act but this guy could've has some type of severe depression or mental illness that caused him to do this.

Exactly, can't believe how judgmental people can be without knowing what was going on in his life, a selfish act - yes, but also the act of a desperate man.

    Yup, pretty much.

The fact that he was desperate or even suffered from mental illness doesnt excuse the fact in my book. You're having problems? Feeling depressed? Tell your wife. Go seek help. You have a family, its your job/duty to support them. Not be a coward and take the easy way out.

I cant sympathize or empathize with somebody who takes their own life.

It is tragic, and to some it might be selfish... we have no idea of what kind of health he was in, or what kind of mental state he was in, but for sure, he was going through his version of hell to let it all go...

Now he's at peace... what he couldn't have in life...

Hopefully Cat and her family may find some type of answer to comfort them.

    Condolences.
I've been in the lowest of places myself. My deepest sympathy to all affected.
