Video if you follow link.NBC Miami has video of Thiago Silva in custody following last night's standoff with Broward County police. The UFC light heavyweight is seen sitting in the back of a police car while a reporter asks for information.
Here's a transcript of the brief exchange:
Reporter: Did you pull a gun on your wife?
Reporter: Why'd you go there?
Silva: She want my money.
Reporter: It was your money? What happened? Tell me...
Silva: She want my money. She want my house. She want my money.
Silva is then shown being checked into the jail where he repeatedly gives the camera crew the middle finger.
Silva is in custody following a dispute at Pablo Popovitch Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center where the UFC fighter allegedly made threats before returning home and barring himself in his house. Silva now faces multiple charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence
UFC releases official statement regarding Thiago Silva arrest
Zuffa LLC -- owner of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) -- released the following statement regarding Thiago Silva.
"This evening, we were made aware of a situation involving Thiago Silva. We are in the process of gathering the facts and have no further comment at this time."
There are many paths to freedom....not all are peaceful.
This would definitely explain why I was reading tweets from MMA media people about Popovitch being a "stud/player" earlier in the evening, and I didn't get the joke/reference at all, I was kind of perplexed actually....so I wonder if word had gotten out about this rumour and people started to gossip- true or otherwise? It's weird that people were tweeting about Pablo prior to all of this.
