This'll be interesting. Considering Eddie's got one fight left, then he's out the door, I suppose Gil's getting the spot next to Chandler, where they can build the LW division around, but outside of those two....that division is pretty soft.

I'd be cool if they just did a straight up trade between Eddie and Gil.....

Melendez must have inhaled too much second-hand from the Diaz's if he is serious about Bellator. Short-term monetary gain from a bigger contract is not worth losing the chance at getting points as a LW champ.

Remember he turned down the UFC to sign a 6 fight strikeforce deal right before the zuffa purchase. It isn't like he has always been a company guy.

No, but he has been trying to renegotiate his contract, and is waiting to fight when he's offered a title fight... which hasn't been offered, because as Dana plainly pointed out, he is 1-2 in his last 3.

I talk of money not of loyalty.

Say what you will, but getting Gilbert, Nate, and Jake would really help out what ever org they went to. Jake may not be too exciting to watch, but he has a legit skill set and record. If he moved to another org, he probably would actually finish most of his (lower level) opponents, which could hype him up even more.
